Cherry Tops '08 : The race starts in Nelson at the Sacred Ride, climbs up to the top of Pulmonary then plunges down to Highway 3. All you cowpokes will then head up Marsden Road and keep pedaling 23 kms until you get up to Baldface Lodge, elevation 6,750 feet. It doesn't end there cause it's a final grueling push up to Cherry Tops, elevation 7,200 feet. After a breath-catching and breath-taking moment it's time to switch ‘er over to downhill mode. Competitors will start their flight down “the meadow trail”, Lower Swamp Donkey, and pedal up 4 kms to Shannon Pass. Then it's down to Kootenay Lake via the Shannon Pass trail and to Johnstone Park along highway 3. Whew! Yes, you read that right … we're talking about 6,000 vertical feet and almost 60 km!

Cyswogn'fun '08 : The Nelson Athletic Association's 26th ANNUAL SWIM, BIKE, and RUN event centered around beautiful Lakeside Park. This ¼ Ironman continues to be an event for everyone from top-ranking amateurs to adult and youth participants who are entering for the pure enjoyment. We continue to have an adult short course for people who are just breaking into the world of triathlons and our team events are ideal for family participation. Come and enjoy our beautiful community for the long weekend in August and join our 26th annual race.

Fat Tire Fest '08 : This event takes place every year in memory of Cam Alexander, and avid cyclist who lost his live while riding his bike 12 years ago. Cam, whose smile was only surpassed by his appetite, was loved and respected by us so much that it only seemed fit to throw a party for bicycles; a festival was call for, The Fat Tire Bicycle fest is now an annual event for all to enjoy.
